Pastor Roland Schwendeman and Jane Schwendeman
Pastor Schwendeman and his family accepted the call to join the ministry at Grace Pentecostal Church in late 2008. Roland was officially voted in as Pastor in June. Roland, his wife and children were officially relocated to the city of Salem in December, 2008. They are originally from Marietta, Ohio.
Before assuming the role of Pastor at Grace Pentecostal, Rev. Schwendeman served in a variety of ministerial functions in Marietta, including A.C.T.S (Alcohol Chemical Treatment Series) coordinator, and Board Trustee of New Life United Pentecostal Church of Marietta. While attending New Life United Pentecostal Church, Rev. Schwendeman ministered from the pulpit through preaching and teaching the Word.
Through his involvement with New Life, Rev. Schwendeman set up many valuable networking connections for the church to help impact the city of Marietta with the Gospel.
Aside from serving as a Pastor, Rev. Schwendeman also spends his time doing contracting work for surrounding churches and families. Since moving to Salem, Rev. Schwendeman has had part in the construction of The Solid Rock Church of Alliance, Ohio, and Life Tabernacle of Rittman, Ohio.
His wife Jane has been involved in Sunday School teaching for years, and has a passion for encouraging others. Aside from ministering at Grace Pentecostal she works part-time as an insurance agent.
His son Jim helps him with contract work and maintains the grounds at the church. He enjoys playing guitar in his spare time.
His daughter Katie leads worship at Grace Pentecostal. With a background in musical training, Katie has a passion for the music ministry and is currently teaching piano lessons to young children in the church. She also holds a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism and an Associate of Arts. She graduated from Marietta College in 2006.
The family is excited to be in the city of Salem, and recognizes the potential this great historical city has to reach the world with the Gospel.
"And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature."
